The background screen process can be part of your application process (in-line) for all volunteers or set up separately so you can pick specific types of volunteers for a background screen. Either way, the experience is contained within VolunteerLocal and there is no 3rd party website involved.
The final result (pass/flagged) is displayed in your administrative portal, so you never have to go between applications to check results.
